The First 90 Days
The most dangerous thing a founder can do with a new idea is start building it. The second most dangerous thing is spending months in "stealth mode" writing business plans.
Here is the exact 90-day cadence we use to validate ideas before committing engineering resources.
Month 1: Market Signal & Problem Discovery
- Identify the target persona (narrower is better).
- Conduct 20 discovery interviews (focus on past behavior, not future promises).
- Define the exact pain point and how it is currently being solved (the "status quo" competitor).
Month 2: Solution Design & The Offer
- Design the "Concierge" or "Wizard of Oz" version of the solution.
- Draft the core offer (Value Proposition + Price + Guarantee).
- Create a landing page to collect intent (waitlist or pre-sales).
Month 3: Traffic & Conversion Testing
- Drive 1,000 highly targeted clicks to the landing page (via Ads, Cold Email, or Communities).
- Measure conversion rate on the core offer.
- If conversion > benchmark: Proceed to build v1. If not, pivot the offer or audience.
